Premier clubs from the South-East Essex Sunday League took a break from League action to begin their quest for a date at Roots Hall in the divisional cup finals.

Two sides, ISIS and Castle Point, had to fight out a preliminary round tie to earn a clash with Hanningfield. Goals from Godfrey and Tormey earned Castle Point a 2-0 win.

Haystack and Simco were inolved in an incident-packed cup tie that kept everyone on their toes. Starting with only ten men, Haystack went 1-0 up after 20 seconds through Simon Franklin.

Simco should have levelled with a penalty, but missed from the spot and Haystack made it 2-0 through Danny Burns. Simco pulled back a goal through Steve Watkins, but could not get an equaliser as Haystack held on as they search for their third successive final.

Runwell Raiders, winners of last year's Division One Cup, made light of a tricky tie by disposing of CISK 4-1. CISK lost their goalkeeper through injury. Rex smashed a hat-trick for the winners.

Red Star won through to round two with a 4-2 win at Zach Willshire. Blake hit two.
