Two Harwich Boxing Club members made the long haul to Cambridge to box at the Lordshall Arena.
Senior lightweight Nathan Proctor, 19, faced G Shilling of Needham Market. The unbeaten Shilling was always looking to pressure Proctor, but the Harwich boy's tactics ensured he nicked the first round.
His cleaner work and fast combinations edged the second session. In the final round the heavily-tattooed Shilling put in a determined performance to close the gap.
However, Proctor showed his cool to weather the storm and produced his best work of the bout with some telling left jabs.
His refined performance earned him a majority decision and keeps him unbeaten in two bouts this season.
Another boxer looking to score his second win of the season was 14-year-old Matt Jacobs. In the opposite corner was the less experienced but heavier Stoner of Kings Lynn.
Jacobs scored well in the first two rounds, but the workrate of Stoner ensured this was going to be a close contest.
The Harwich lad dug deep in the last round and came up with the classier shots to scrape a wafer thin majority points victory.
This victory is the club's tenth in succession since October and coaches Martin Webb and Paul Shaw are delighted with their boxers so far this season.
