Witham Town's first team did not have a game on Saturday as their intended Ryman League Division Two opponents, Hemel Hempstead, were engaged in a FA Vase game.
Hemel played a match against Great Wakering which the Essex side won 1-0, the same scoreline as when Witham beat Hemel Hempstead for their only league win of the season.
Witham will be at Spa Roadon Saturday when Edgware are the visitors for a Ryman League game, the match scheduled to kick-off at 3pm.
Town desperately need a win as they are still rooted in second from bottom place, and vocal support from the 'locals' would be much appreciated by the management and players alike.
Romford too strong
Witham Reserves were at Spa Road on Saturday but lost 4-0 against a strong Romford side, with all the goals coming in the second half, Witham manager Ronnie Roser saying after the game that the scoreline flattered the visitors.
He was also puzzled as to what went wrong after the break as in the first half Town were the better side and looked like winning the game but then everything went haywire.
The Reserves will be at Spa Road on Wednesday, December 15, to play Sandon Royals in a Tolleshunt D'Arcy Cup tie (kick-off 7.30 pm).
The Reserves still need a physiotherapist for their games.

Swifts swept away
Witham Town's under 18s beat Heybridge Swifts 2-1 in Sunday's Essex County Cup tie
Gino Defeo scored the first Town goal midway through the first half, but it was not until the 75th minute, that Witham scored their second goal when after a good run and cross by Jerry Hawes, Tony Walkin headed the ball home.
But Heybridge were not finished and Mark Priest's goal reduced the deficit, but with good defending, Witham held out for a fine win that puts them into the last 16 of the competition.
