Portraying Tony Blair as a green alien who whisks millennium revellers off in his spaceship has gained young Amy Hockney her place in print.
Eight-year-old Amy's 99-word story is one of 99 featured in a millennium book called Suddenly... produced to raise money for Childline.
Amy, of Blackwater Avenue, Colchester, who attends Bishop William Ward School in Great Horkesley, used her vivid imagination to develop a story about the Prime Minister's spaceship landing on the Millennium Dome at midnight on New Year's Eve.
After taking the partying people on board, he removes his facemask to reveal he is actually a green alien.
Amy said: "It's a bit of a joke."
After writing the story - and carefully adjusting it to make sure it was exactly 99-words long - she was delighted when she got a letter back saying her tale was one of those chosen for inclusion from the 5,000 entries.
She said: "I was really amazed my story was picked. I feel really proud."
