Chelmsford Highway Hockey Club captain, Jo Green, was in fine form at the weekend as she scored six goals, five coming in one match.

Green, 26, netted her side's equaliser in Saturday's National League Premier Division encounter with Slough, and she went on to net five of Chelmsford's goals in their 9-0 rout of Bury St Edmunds in Sunday's EHA Cup tie.

A PE teacher at the Bancroft School in Woodford, Green is now in her second season as the Chelmsford captain, and she said "It is the first time that I have scored five goals in a match at this level.

''However, it was just as pleasing to score onlyone goal in Saturday's match against Slough, as we were the underdogs for the match, and the 1-1 draw has put us into a safe mid-table position".

Green, who lives in Walthamstow, added: ''At the start of the season our target was to avoid relegation from the National League Premier Division and, unless something goes drastically wrong, then we will have achieved our aim."

Jo's brother, Andrew, 23, plays at Braintree Hockey Club, and is currently the club's leading goalscorer, but as Jo pointed out her weekend haul of six goals has put her closer to him in the goalscoring charts!
