Police are hunting a man who showed naked pictures of himself to teenage girls.

The three 14-year-old girls ran off after the man showed them the photographs.

Insp Dave Appleby said the teenagers were playing on Great Bentley village green at the time.

He added that the girls were sitting outside the village shop when they were approached by a man, who was in his late 50s and had a full beard.

Mr Appleby said the man was carrying a folder which he deliberately dropped onto the floor in front of the girls. It fell open and revealed naked pictures of the man.

The man told the girls he was a model and was looking for a studio. The girls, who were distressed by the incident, then ran off.

Police said the man did not touch the girls but did ask if they liked the photographs.

It is thought the incident, which took place at 3pm on November 14, may be connected to a similar approach in Great Horkesley, near Colchester, where a man also told people he was a model.

Mr Appleby said: "It would appear this is probably not a local man and he probably had some form of transport.

"This sort of thing is distressing and we need to talk to him."

The man in the Great Bentley incident wore a beige top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the man should call Clacton police on 01255 221312 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
