Rochford's First team got back to their winning ways in the Crowe Insurance League Division 4 SE with a 2-1 win away to Crostyx.
The first goal came from a penalty corner which was slotted home by D Lamour, while the second was scored by P Cooper. Crostyx only reply came mid-way through the second half.
Southend strong at the finish
Southend 4
Rickmansworth 2
Rickmansworth were 2-0 up in this first-team clash and it was not until the last 20 minutes that Southend got themselves out of jail.
But Southend domination for long periods and had two goals disallowed by the umpire blowing up too early and not allowing sufficient advantage.
Yet it was Rob Saunders' dismissal for dissent which sparked Southend, with Neil Utton scoring two to level while Saunders was out.
Late goals from Simon Taylor and Saunders, re-freshed from his period out, cemented the victory
Firsts leave it late
S&B Ladies 1st XI 3
Another successful game for Southend and Benfleet Ladies completed the first half of their league games without any loses.
The team started a little off balance before Adele Shar-ples sent home the first goal through a tough Essex defence. Hayley Middleton's goal put Southend 2-0 up at half time.
Essex put out some excellent team members which caused Southend continued grief throughout the game.
But an excellent performance at left back from Angela Willis and strong efforts from Emma Birks and Rebecca Goddard held Essex.
One attempt was made on goal from Essex, but Southend retaliated with a very lucky shot from Liz Davies which appeared to bounce off the goalie's pads.
Hard truths at Havering
S&B Ladies 2nd XI 0
Havering 4
Southend struggled but kept Havering out for the majority of the first half, but conceded a goal shortly before half time.
The hosts started the second half optimistically, but the young Havering side caused them no end of problems before scoring.
The onslaught that followed resulted in two more goals for Havering and a disappointing result for Southend in their largest defeat so far this season.
