The ladies of the Danbury Bowling Club have been the scourge of Essex ladies bowls this season.
Dilys Linnett and Pat Thornton bowled their way through to the semi-final of the Essex County Womens Pairs Competition.
Then Dilys was hospitalised, but enter 'super-sub' Mary Stockwell, and the pair reached the County final, which was played at Stock last Thursday.
Here, their successful run was halted by the ladies of Rochford B.C. who ran out winners of the Pairs Final.
Onn Wednesday of this week, both pairs of finalists were set to represent Essex at the English Womens National Pairs Championships, which were being held at Royal Leamington Spa.
