Evacuees are being called back to Chelmsford for a reunion on Wednesday, August 11.
The event organised by the Evacuees Reunion Association is open to everyone with an interest in the story of the evacuation, especially those who were evacuated or who helped out such as foster parents, teachers and billeting officers.
The association aims to provide links, support and counselling for former evacuees and to commemorate the evacuation of the three and a half million children during the Second World War.
The event is taking place at Chelmsford High School for Girls in Broomfield Road, entrance is free and doors open at 1pm.
The main meeting will begin at 2pm and live music and refreshments will be available.
