When John Elliott and Davina Plumstead got engaged they knew just what they wanted as wedding presents.
So they headed off to Argos to make their wedding list which included garden furniture, a barbecue and a lawn mower.
But with just four weeks to go until the wedding, the couple received a letter from the store saying its catalogue had changed and they would have to revise their wedding list.
Now Mr Elliott, 29, and Miss Plumstead, 27, of Wilson Marriage Road, Colchester, cannot have any of the other garden furnishings as they are seasional items and not in the new catalogue.
Mr Elliott said: "The only reason we went to Argos was because we wanted garden furniture."
Argos has asked the couple to choose items to replace the ones no longer available and their wedding list will be revised.
Miss Plumstead said: "They say the items are seasonal but I think they should be stocked all year round."
She added she would not let the wedding list problems ruin her big day on September 4.
Argos spokeswoman Annie Neesham said the store is obviously disappointed if the couple are upset.
She said when they made their list originally, five months ago, it should have been made clear to them about the catalogue changes.
Mrs Neesham said: "Guests that are unable to buy the gifts they wanted will be shown the new list to choose from."
