Warley Park Golf Club members Dave Dowse and Sandy McNay are heading for St. Andrews in October thanks to a memorable victory in their Club Qualifying of the Famous Grouse Shotgun Foursomes.
Dowse and McNay shot a superb sub-par 69 to win their club competition, and in a series of draws which were held in the Famous Grouse 19th Hole during the Open Championship at Carnoustie, their names came out of the hat with 38 other club winners from Great Britain and Ireland to qualify for the International Final over the Old Course, St. Andrews, on October 13.
St. Andrews is the 'mecca' for every club golfer and as part of their trip to the Home of Golf, the Warley Park pair will stay in Rusacks Hotel overlooking the historic 18th green and first fairway of the Old Course.
Almost 100,000 golfers from 856 clubs played in The Famous Grouse Shotgun Foursomes which is now in its 15th year.
