A workman had his finger cut off while operating a poultry production line.
The 42-year-old Colchester man got his fingers caught in machinery at poultry processors Paul Flatman Ltd in Packards Lane, Wormingford, at 6.30am yesterday.
He was taken to Colchester General Hospital but was later transferred to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
The tip of his finger was severed but medics are hoping it can be sewn back on.
