A garden open day to raise funds for a caring charity was a "piece of cake".
To celebrate its silver jubilee, Crossroads, which gives carers of elderly and infirm people a break, had a fundraising day of open gardens across Castle Point.
Thanks to supermarket giant Sainsbury, the Castle Point branch of Crossroads was given a cake to enjoy, with the logo "It's about time".
Crossroads' spokesman June Gargrave said all the money raised would go to buy time for carers to allow them some respite care of their own.
She said: "We raised around £900." Crossroads helps around 88 families in the Castle Point area, but say it has at least another 42 carers on its waiting list.
