Colchester band Blur could be the voice of a project to investigate life on Mars.
A British spacecraft named Beagle Two is set to be launched in 2003 to take soil samples from the planet's surface.
Music composed by Blur especially for the mission is then expected to be beamed back to earth to test the communications systems.
