George Burley sent a virtually full-strength Ipswich Town team into battle against Dutch side FC Twente at Portman Road.
Town were playing their last big friendly on Saturday before the season kicks off this weekend against David Platt's Nottingham Forest at Portman Road.
Burley had reported no fresh injury worries after Tuesday evening's win over Peterborough United.
But Jim Magilton, Adam Tanner and Marco Holster continued to be absent through injury.
Influential Northern Ireland midfielder Magilton is the club's major injury worry and looks set to miss the start of the season.
But Matt Holland and Mark Venus suffered no reaction to their return from injury on Tuesday and both were expected to play on Saturday.
Fans got a first chance to see new £500,000 signing Jermaine Wright, who will be making his Portman Road debut.
And Dutch winger Romeo Wouden, who is on trial at Ipswich, had another chance to shine.
Meanwhile, Burley is set to get a final verdict on the transfer of a mystery Swedish defender this week.
He has made a bid for the player, thought to be Helsinborgs' Andreas Jakobsson, and will find out soon if it has been accepted.
Burley said on Friday: "We've put in a bid and are waiting to hear from them. We will probably find out next week."
