Taking a break from the crease England cricketer Graham Thorpe encouraged fans to recycle their empty cans.
The batting star visited Chelmsford to help promote a recycling drive in the town.
Alcan Aluminium Can Recycling estimates thristy cricket fans who visits the county cricket ground in Chelmsford will consume 2.3 million aluminium drink cans throughout the season.
With each can being worth up to a penny when recycled, this would amass £15,700 for local charities if they were recycled.
Graham was in town to urge fans to recycle their aluminium cans.
