Essex darts star Colin Lloyd claimed a major scalp as he moved dramatically into the last eight of the World Matchplay Championships in Blackpool.
Lloyd, of Witham, thrashed Alan Warriner - one of the world's top players - 13-2 to earn himself a quarter-final tie against Peter Manley.
The 25-year-old former Aldham resident, who recently picked up a title in Eastbourne, was in awesome form as he thrashed the former world championships semi-finalist.
He joked afterwards: "I had enough alcohol beforehand to get up there! If I can get up there and play quick then I am a match for anyone. That was unbelievable."
Elsewhere Chelmsford's Rod Harrington also moved into the quarter-finals with a 13-7 win over Steve Raw.
But fellow Essex player Mick Manning, who beat Eric Bristow in the first round, was wiped out 13-1 by the in-form Shayne Burgess.
The World Matchplay Championship is considered to be the second biggest competition in the sport behind the world championships.
