Halstead Town boss Terry Benson has moved to allay fans' fears over the future of club captain Richard Schultz.
Schultz had signed registration forms with Ryman League division two side Wivenhoe Town as well as the one already signed with Jewson League Halstead.
But despite this, Benson said he had been in talks with the player who had reaffirmed his allegiance to Halstead.
Benson said: "He is staying and is 100 per cent committed to the club despite a very good offer from Wivenhoe."
"Obviously I'm delighted - this is very good news for me."
