Stars from the worlds of sport, television, music and the media are set to play in a Benefit Match for England and Essex Cricket Captain, Nasser Hussain.
The match at Billericay Cricket Club in Blunts Wall Road on Wednesday, August 11, starts at 1.30pm, although the festivities start earlier in the day.
Those who have committed to attend, subject to availability are Ross Kemp (Eastenders), Mark Little (Neighbours and The Big Breakfast) and Adam Woodyatt (Eastenders) from television, Derek Pringle (former Essex and England), Colin Croft (Trinidad and West Indies), David Smith (Surrey, Worcestershire, Sussex and England) and Simon Hughes (Middlesex and Durham) from the world of cricket and John Inverdale (BBC TV and Radio presenter), Steve Davis (multiple snooker champion), Paul Carrack (of the band Mike and the Mechanics), John Altman (musician and film score composer) and Paul Newman (Sunday Telegraph).
The side will be pitted against an Essex XI, although the beneficiaries own participation now looks doubtful after the broken finger he sustained in the Lord's Test.
Admission will be £2 for adults, £1 for under 18's and OAPs, and car parking is free.
Opportunities for Corporate Hospitality are still available at £50 per head which includes lunch, tea, the match and evening disco.
