Essex darts player Colin Lloyd crashed out of the World Matchplay Championships in Blackpool on Thursday night.
Newcomer Lloyd, who had done well to reach the quarter finals, lost 16-8 to Peter Manley.
The 25-year-old former Aldham man, now based in Witham, lost the last seven legs and had problems hitting his doubles throughout the match.
Chelmsford's Rod Harrington, the reigning champion, surged into the semi-finals beating Peter Evison 16-9.
Harrington now plays Dennis Priestley for a place in the final.
