Police were today warning the public to be on the lookout after a scorpion was found in nectarines bought at an Essex car boot sale.
The creature, described as potentially deadly, was discovered in fruit bought at the sale in Great Leighs, near Braintree.
An Essex police spokesman said: "It was about two-and-a-half inches long, with a black body and brown legs. We are warning anyone who bought fruit there to be on their guard."
