A trio of staff members at a Rochford school were today (Friday) reflecting on a quarter of a century of teaching.
The teachers, from King Edmund School in Vaughan Close, Rochford, are now teaching the children of their first pupils. They were presented with a special award at an evening held by the school at Cliffs Pavilion, Southend.
David Stowe, 50, who has been head of music since he started in 1974, and now deals with IT and creative arts said he felt touched somebody had recognised his long service.
While history teacher Graham Poxon, and head of RE Bruce Smart both said they had been blessed with friendly children throughout their careers.
Lab technician Janet Stowe was also given an award for her 27 years service, and 25-year-old Kirsten Timbrell was honoured after staff nominated her for a TV award for her teaching abilities.
