There were runs a plenty at the John Burrows Ground in Hadleigh when some of the great names of world cricket gathered.
The occasion was the clash between Hadleigh's Select line-up and a World Invitation X1 and nearly 1,000 fans cramped into the ground to watch the stars in action.
They certainly weren't disappointed. South Africa's Mike Rindell took the leading honours by smashing 71 runs for the Hadleigh team and later taking 2-29. He was voted man of the match.
Opening the Hadleigh batting with India's Debeng Gandhi (50), Rindell helped put on a stand of 100.
Two great West Indian names Alvin Kallicharan (54) and Roger Harper (72) kept the runs flowing, while another star from that Continent, vice-captain Jimmy Adams, took 3-17 in three overs.
Gordon Greenidge (57), Neg Mohammed (39) and Frankie Griffith (38) helped the reply going, but young Stephen Board enjoyed a spell of four overs of off spin he'll be able to tell the grandchildren about when he captured the wickets of Greenidge and Adams.
Leg-spinner Neil Goodman took 3-17 in five overs and Hadleigh press spokesman Jon Wagstaff said: "It was a tremendous day with some some great cricket.
"I'm sure all those who came along enjoyed the match and we'll be making a very good donation to our charity of the day, Little Havens Hospice."
