Rhythmic youngsters have boogied their way to the top of the class - and scooped a position in a national final.
The dancing girls - and one boy - from the Anderson Dance Group in Billericay came up trumps the very first time they entered the contest.
The group of 28 dancers have managed to beat off competition from other groups in the Anglia region to win through to the national final.
The International Dance Teachers' Association competition final is to be held in Blackpool in November.
Wendy Anderson, of Perry Street, set up the dance group for six to 14-year-olds four years ago. Her son is the only boy in the group.
Mrs Anderson, who runs the group at Hannikins Farm Hall, in Rosebay Avenue, said: "We have never entered this competition before and just went along for the experience. It is frightening to know we have got this far."
