The Lobster Smack Sea Angling Club made the most of the fine weather when they staged the Over Tide Dash competition and helped raise £101 for the RNLI.
However, although conditions were very pleasant, the fishing was a little lacklustre with eel catches dominating the six-hour contest.
Roy Gunn, fishing aboard the Sea Dream, took first place with .78kg. Second spot went to Mick Church (.62kg) with third going to Mark Gibbs (.56kg).
The club would like to thank Terry Durrant - the landlord of Canvey's Lobster Smack pub, Jade Gibbs, Pam Hynes, Sally Wood and Angie Anderson for making the day such a success.
The Lobster's monthly competition saw more varied catches being brought to bank with first place going to John Norris on the Ocean Warrior who took four bass for a weight of 8.24kg. John also took the biggest fish of the day honour with a bass of 4.48kg.
Dawn Sharron crew member Ray hardy claimed second with 11 eels and a single bass totaling 8.08kg.
Third place went to Dennis Range whose 7.42kg weight consisted of one skate, four smoothounds and a brace of eels.
In the Ladies section the spoils went to Sally Wood, fishing aboard the Coral Mist, with a smoothound of 1.86kg.
Runner-up for the Ladies was Angie Anderson, also on the Coral Mist, who took a single smoothound and an eel for 1.58kg.
