Double-centurion Simon Davis blasted Abberton out of the National Village Cricket Championship.
The Eversholt batsman hit an amazing 210 off just 120 balls as Abberton went down by a whopping 217 runs in Bedfordshire on Sunday.
Eversholt batted first and made a huge 342 for 6 off their 40 overs with only Tom Henderson, who took three wickets, emerging relatively unscathed from the Abberton bowlers.
The Essex men bravely launched an attack on the target - but were bowled out for 125, Jonathon Ward top scoring on 45.
The defeat was made all the more frustrating by Davis being dropped twice while on 67 and 82 - and escaping a number of appeals from the Abberton bowlers.
The club's defeat ended Abberton's hopes of a Lord's final and means there are now no Essex teams left in the last eight of the prestigious competition.
