Antique cycles made sure campaigning for this year's annual Bikeathon around Southend got off on the right wheel.
A penny farthing and bone-shakers were wheeled out for the launch, at Waitrose supermarket in Eastern Avenue, Southend.
The Bikeathon will take place on September 5, and money raised will go towards Leukeamia Research.
Publicity Officer for the event, Joyce Meredith, said more than 1,000 riders took part last year.
She said; "From now on we will start gathering the entrance forms and publicising the event as much as possible.
"We have already got 100 applicants even before the launch."
