A teenager who went missing on her 15th birthday has been reunited with her distraught mum.
Suzanne Dighton didn't arrive at a pal's house on Saturday night after leaving home in Mount Road, Wickford.
He mum Judy said she was worried sick by her daughter's sudden disappearance and it was completely out of character for her not to keep in touch with her family.
But today police said the 15-year-old had turned up at her cousin's home in Colchester and had been reunited with her mother.
A spokesman added: "There is an indication that she is safe and well.
"We will be arranging to go and see her because we can't take her off our missing list until we have done that. We will be seeing her when she returns to her home in Wickford today."
When Suzanne went missing her worried mum pleaded: "Please come home. We still have presents here for you to open. You've done nothing wrong."
Police launched an immediate hunt for the 5ft 4in, slim teenager and said they were concerned for her welfare.
