Old Chelmsfordians suffered a major blow to their championship chances, after being dismissed for just 122 by High Easter, Hegginbotham taking four for 38.
High Easter replied with 123 for four to win by four wickets.
High Roding take over at the top following their win at home to Galleywood .
Andrew Clark hit an impressive 156 not out as Roding made 317 for three, and there were also good knocks from Darren Tredgett (57) and Paul Welham (46no).
Simon Cato scored 77 in the reply but Galleywood finished 75 runs short on 242 for seven.
Broomfield made 209 for three at Ingatestone , Shah top scoring with 74.
Bonnington (82) and Emmens (62no) were prominent in reply as Ingatestone made 210 for three for a seven wicket victory.
Writtle reached 158 for nine at home to Great Wakering , extras top scoring with 37! Woodley took three for 37 and Brandon three for 46.
Chris Shelley hit 57 in the response but Wakering were dismissed for 146, Ian Goodman claiming three for 31.
South Weald totalled 247 for eight at home to Corringham and then bowled their visitors out for 228 to win by 19 runs.
