Braintree College students were honoured last week in the annual Achievement Awards Ceremony.

A roll call of students stepped up to the podium to be recognised for their academic success, improved performance, commitment, effort and contribution to college life.

Opening the ceremony college principal Martin Bates said: "Our congratulations go not only to the winners, but to the dozens of students who were nominated for prizes.

"Choosing winners was a very difficult task and our winners are representative of the achievements of the student body as a whole.

"We pride ourselves on being a locally based community-focused comprehensive establishment, aiming to cater for all ages, abilities and ambitions.
