The 144th Dengie Hundred Horticultural Society Show was a huge success at the weekend.
The show started with a street march through the village in which children in fancy dress paraded their costumes.
The rest of the fun took place at the King George V Memorial Field with the Hadleigh Marching Militaire leading show Princess, Sophie Clayton and her two attendants, Stacey Lawrence and Nicola Stinson, onto the field for the crowning.
There were competitions in horticultural, handicraft and floral display as well as craft stalls, sideshows and demonstrations.
A first ever art display was held in the village hall, organised by Jan Rook and Doug Bolton, and included paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics and old photographs.
Show organiser John Battson said: "We had a lovely day, between 2,200 and 2,800 people came along which is well up on last year, and hopefully we have made enough money to make the millennium show the best ever."
