An urgent call has been made to introduce traffic calming measures and ease parking problems in two neighbouring villages before someone is seriously injured or killed.
Newly-formed Kirby Residents' Association is concerned about pedestrians safety - especially for children around the site of Kirby Primary School in Halstead Road.
The association believes the greatest danger is when parents deliver and collect their youngsters.
Chairman Robert Bucke said it had become a major issue.
"The volume of parking means that all vehicles including buses and commercial vehicles have to mount the pavement and use it to pass continuous lines of parked cars which are often stationary on prohibited areas," he said.
"The fear is that someone will receive a serious injury or worse."
Mr Bucke said members of the association, which covers Kirby Cross and Kirby-le-Soken and was formed earlier this year, were also worried about speeding in the villages.
On top of that they have called for a mini-roundabout to be put in at the Halstead Road and Frinton Road junction.
Mr Bucke said all the issues brought up at the association's latest meeting would be taken up with Frinton and Walton Town Council and Tendring Council.
The next open meeting of the association will be at the Baker Hall on October 20 at 7.30pm.
