Essex star Glen Cooper (3) won Ballards Gore's monthly medal amid strong winds.
He birdied the first and sixth holes, triple-bogeyed the eighth, then got an 11th-hole birdie and an eagle 13th.
Matt Hilsum (10), with a net 70, was second on countback from J Preston.
Division Two Medal winner was Peter Dabbs (15), with David Marrable taking the Division Three prize.
Super Saitch sets record for ladies
Daphne Saitch won the Basildon Golf Club Ladies Championship for the 15th time - probably a record for ladies' amateur golf.
Daphne, who plays off 11, won the 36 hole event with a gross aggregate of 172.
She was four strokes clear of Margaret O'Leary with Eileen Prendergast third on 177.
Best net score for the Betty Burch Trophy, was won by Jane Ashdown on 142 with Beryl Newson second on countback.
Shirley scoops captain's prize
Linda Bennet organised a thoroughly enjoyable Lady Captain's Day for the 40 Three Rivers members who took part.
The morning Stableford was won by Heather McCullogh with 40 points from Carol Birch (36) and Julia Billing (34).
The afternoon consisted of a Texas Scramble with a win for Debbie Evers, Dorothy Curtis and Rita Pearcey.
The longest drive was by Sue Scott, while Mary Frake took the nearest the pin award.
Three Rivers also hosted a Ladies Open with victory going to S Kettley/S Hull (Burnham) on 46 points.
J Whitehead and P Clarke (Royal Epping Forest) took runners-up spot on countback from A Herrington and D Austin (The Burstead) after both pairs finished on 45 points.
J Hazeldine and M Brocks (Rochford) were fourth on 43.
On the front nine, I Heath and N Guthrie (Braintree) won on countback from R Holt and R Belcher. Both pairs had 24 points.
Over the back nine, M Roderick and P Spraggon (Romford) won with 23 points from S Hambling and S Glenn (Upminster). Both pairs had 21 points.
Nearest the pin was Lesley Carter from Brickenden Grange. Upminster's Sheila Hambling had the longest drive. A total of 120 ladies competed in the Open.

Duo on fringe of top place
Basildon's Ron Wilkes and Steve Rooney finished third in the 44-team line-up for the Essex Foursomes Championship at the Essex Golf and Country Club.
They totalled 149 to finish one behind two pairs. Victory went to hairdresser John Moody and sales manager Gary Fisher (Bentley), who beat Paul Homewood and Ian Moore (Maylands) in a three-hole play-off.
Excellent conditions at Nasildon for the monthly medal were reflected in some outstanding scoring. Bill Martin, who plays off 21, set the pace by winning Division Three with a net 61.
Peter Murray (11) won Division One with a net 65, while victory in the Second Division went to Mark Seber, who plays off 177, with a 64.
Shining reply to tourney
A select band of local golfers are beginning to check their passports as This Is Essex partner paper the Evening Echo's Sunshine Challenge Tournament moves towards a thrilling climax.
The competition, which carries with it a free sunshine trip to Portugal for the winner, has now reached the semi-final stages.
Burnham on Crouch five-handicapper Simon Vidgeon (5) hosts 16-handicapper Simon Stone (Three Rivers).
Kim Shead, Ballards Gore' 10-handicapper, will be away to the winners of the delayed quarter-final between Rise-bridge's Stuart Gogay and M Hodnett (Basildon).
The Gogay-Hodnett clash is due next week, with semi-finals to be played by July 23.
Shead won 4 and 3 away to David Hull (13) at Hanover. Vidgeon beat David Smith (21) 2 and 1 at Boyce Hill.
Stone triumphed at home over Three Rivers ten-handicapper Roy Nesbitt 3 and 1.
Boyce Hill won the Kindred Club Shield final staged at Thorpe Hall, with Rochford runners-up.
Monk's ace habit - at the age of 82
Hanover Golf Club's John Monk has got into the hole-in-one habit - at the age of 82.
John grabbed his ace on the Regency Course at the Hullbridge-based club while playing the 126-yard 16th.
Sandwich man Peter Elliott cut out the slices to take the Hanover Georgian Course's annual President's Putter by one stroke.
The Elliott's Upper Crust Catering owner shot net six under par 67 to pip Stuart Page and Roy Eaton.
Page claimed the runners-up spot on countback after burning up the back nine in net 30.
James Dowling (14) had a one-stroke victory in Division One of the monthly medal. He ended on 68 from a group of players a stroke behind.
David Medlock (13) was runner-up on countback.
Division Two saw Guy Thurston (15) and Lee Perry (25) well clear of the field. Both shot 64 with Thurston taking the honours on countback.
Buta's consolation
Rochford Hundred's Thornton Cup stalwart Talat Buta got consolation for his team crashing out of the senior Essex team competition the previous week when he won the senior medal at Rochford.
Six-handicapper Buta's net 70 just edged out vice-captain Dave Turner (5) on countback. John Gray (8)) was third on 71.
Buta's score was built on a Nick Faldo-type back nine during which he parred every hole. Turner birdied the third, fourth and 11th and had ten pars, while Gray birdied 18 and had ten pars.
Intermediate winner Dennis Bailey (11) had 11 pars in his net 69, while runner-up Dick Clarke (15) birdied 17 and had five pars in his 70. John Bath (11) was third on 71.
Gerry Evison (18) covered nine holes in regulation figures in winning the junior contest on 66. Next came Mick Hobbs (19) on 67, with Russell Bird (19) third on 71.
