A couple from Dubai have bought a Clacton home over the internet - without ever stepping foot inside it.
Neville and Ruth Sewell found the bungalow as a result of searching the net and after pressing a few buttons they have now nearly purchased it.
Estate agents Single Rose, of Station Road, Clacton, said it was the first time it had sold a house over the net.
Mr and Mrs Sewell spotted the bungalow in Anchor Road, Clacton, on a property website.
They e-mailed Single Rose three weeks ago, which then faxed them more details and took internal photos of the two-bedroomed home.
The Sewells offered the £72,995 asking price and the hi-tech sale is going through.
The couple also bought two flats in the town at Middlesex Court, Holland Road, Clacton.
Steve Singleton, a partner at Single Rose, said: "They are a British couple who have been working in Dubai. They will still be working there but will be in England more so they wanted a base.
"It is the first time we have done it but we do get quite a few inquiries.
"When we first were connected I thought we could advertise on it but I'm surprised by the amount of inquiries we get - now I'm a true believer."
The only hold-up is that Dorothy and Dennis Higgins, both 78, who own the Anchor Road home, are using a more traditional way of moving - and are still waiting to find somewhere to go.
Mrs Higgins said: "We have heard of the internet but we never dreamed estate agents went on it. We were surprised, it just happened overnight."
