Rodney the dachshund has just been voted top dog at a show in Scotland, much to the delight of his owners.
The three-year-old smooth standard daschund - whose show name is Top Thorne Roderick Joyce For Seatris - is the pride and joy of Bob and Anita McCarthy.
Anita, of Glenwood, Canvey, said: "We're extremely proud of him.
"We've been showing him for just over three years and it's taken 18 months to get the three certificates he needed to win the title.
"The judges obviously like the way he looks. You get some dogs which are too long in the body but Rodney is nice and compact and has got terrific movement."
Anita's dream is to win Crufts but Rodney will first tackle more pressing matters.
He will spend next month trying to produce baby champions with Anita's other daschund, Inca.
