Green-fingered pupils from a Canvey school have been getting their hands dirty to help tend to a garden project.
Organisers of Canvey 2000 - a community scheme to regenerate the island for the next millennium - unveiled a scented garden and water feature last Friday.
More than 130 youngsters from Furtherwick Park have since been helping to keep the the seafront area looking neat and tidy.
