A teenage woman has died in Clacton.

The body of the 18-year-old woman was found at 8.15am today in a flat on the corner of West Avenue and Old Road, Clacton.

It is believed she suffered from diabetes.

Police and ambulance crews attended the flat and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An ambulance spokesman said a call was received from a man who had found the woman.

Ambulance staff gave him advice over the phone before paramedics arrived and administered first aid.

Police were today informing her next of kin of her death.

A police spokesman said it was a sudden death and there were no suspicious circumstances.

He added that it was thought the death was due to diabetes.
