Jewson League Clacton Town have signed what is believed to be one of the biggest sponsorship deals in non-league football.

The newly-promoted Seasiders have teamed up with radio station Dream FM in an agreement worth £120,000 over three years.

The figure is made up of both cash input and advertising air time, although neither party has revealed what the split is.

Club owner Jeff Dewing said the deal would raise the profile of the club and hoped it would help - along with continued on-field success - to raise attendances to around the 500 mark.

He said: "One of our prime objectives since taking over the club has been to raise its profile and increase its level of support. What better way to achieve this?

"And to reflect the deal, we'll be changing the club's nickname from Squad 2000 to the Dream Team."

Dream FM's managing director Norman Lloyd said: "Clacton's a big club going places. It should be a good partnership."

Dream will be featured in the club's literature, at the ground and be first team shirt sponsors for home matches.

They will also sponsor the club's new minibus service which will ferry fans to the ground.
