Ingrebourne Netball Club travelled to Somerset to take part in the two day Pontins Tournament, and two Ingrebourne teams entered the competition, the Under 11's and Under 13's.
On the first day the U11's played brilliantly, beating Bournemouth and Sunderland on their way to finishing runners-up in their section.
The U13's took longer to get into their stride and an injury to G.S. Carly Germaine meant that they were forced to play two games with only six players.
They finished fifth and went into the 'plate' section for the following day.
On the second day, the U11's - in the 'cup' competition - had some difficult matches and could only manage runners-up, which put them out of the semi-final.
The U13's, however, showed great courage and determination to fight all the way to the final where they were narrowly beaten by Sunderland Solitaires.
The girls were quite happy, even so, as they went home with medals, a trophy and a new netball.
In the U13 team, Centre Lauren Saunders and Wing Attack Nicola Dean were consistent throughout the tournament.
In defence, Rosie Emery and Ashley Rumble grew in stature as the day went on, gaining confidence from new girl Lucy Pearce.
The two shooters, Carly Germaine and Mikayla Daly both showed remarkable flair and ability - especially Carly, who virtually played the whole of the second day with only one good hand.
It was a wonderful team performance that had all the supporters screaming and cheering!
The Ingrebourne teams were: (U11) Lois Lomas, Sarah Brooks, Hayley Germaine, Stacey Turner, Becky Sears, Cheryl Mills, Becky Johnson, Sophie Emery and Emma Saunders. (U13) Carly Germaine, Mikayla Daly, Nicola Dean, Lauren Saunders, Rosie Emery, Lucy Pearce and Ashley Rumble.
