Frinton returned to its heyday as the 1920s and 1930s hit town.
The first Frinton Past Times event on Saturday saw a Green Goddess train running into town, vintage cars and shopkeepers dressed up in clothes from the era.
Tiffany Stage Academy performed the Charleston on the greensward and were followed by the band Backtrack.
The day was organised by Lynsey Verhelst, who runs The Chocolate Shop in Connaught Avenue and the Frinton Chamber of Commerce.
Lynsey, who was dressed as a Charleston dancer, said: "We decided on the 1920s and 1930s as they were the golden years for Frinton. It was a social centre at that time.
"It was held to raise awareness of Frinton and to bring people into Frinton and get everybody involved."
She hopes to hold another similar event next year which she said would be even bigger and better.
