A homeowner's musical tastes should not only be reflected in their CD collection but also in the decoration of their front door.
That is according to glitzy art student Paul Range-Dye of Leigh.
As part of his final major project for his degree course, Paul has painted a Who-style target and Beatles silhouette on the entrance of his mother-in-law's Hillside Crescent home.
The design is to make it clear to all callers that Paula Range is a big 60s fan.
Meanwhile, Paul's wife Victoria's love of 80s pop superstars Wham! was the inspiration for the design of their front door in Somerville Gardens.
Borrowing from the Katherine Hamnett T-shirt design favoured by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, a painting urges callers to Choose Wham! and a warning sign states "No hawkers, No circulars and No Durannies", referring to the media-invented feud between the two supergroups.
Paul, 29, who is studying at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, said: "I am exploring how people stamp their individuality onto the front of their homes.
"I started on ours with my wife's love of 80s music, then moved on to my mother-in-law's.
"She is used to her home being a guinea pig for me. Last year I wallpapered the fence which caused a bit of amusement in the area."
