Matt Holland put transfer rumours behind him to be at the birth of son Samuel Ryan, who weighed in at 8lbs, at Colchester General Hospital.
Matt was with wife Paula who gave birth to her second boy. Samuel has an older brother in Jacob.
The family are now back at their Braiswick home and doing well. Ipswich Town midfielder Matt said: "It was an unbelievably emotional experience.
"The way he was kicking Paula before he was born means he will probably be another footballer."
There has been talk of Fulham and Southampton showing an interest in the highly-rated midfielder.
But Matt Holland and his boss George Burley have insisted he will be staying at Portman Road.
