A hole in one is an achievement for any golfer but when you're just 10-years-old it really does bring your name to the fore.
Little Richard Collins of Chelmsford Road, Blackmore, realised he had really got into the swing of the game after potting the elusive one stroke ball during a game at the Chelsmford Golf Club, Widford, where he is a cadet.
Proud dad, Ian, said: "He has only been a member there for three months and only playing golf for a couple of years.
"When he told me he had achieved a hole in one during a game last weekend I thought he was winding me up at first but no, he really did it."
And to add to his sporting achievement. just two days afterwards Richard was also appointed captain of his school football team at Blackmore County Primary School, Nine Ashes Road, Blackmore.
Now Ian, mum, Louise and little sister Sophie, eight, are watching Richard's progress with interest to see if he has any more sporting successes up his sleeve.
