Artist Sheila Appleton is adding the finishing touches to an 11ft tall acrylic painting which will is bound to catch the eyes of Southend's throng of day trippers.
The lively backdrop of Latin American dancers will be hung at Club Riveria near the Kursaal.
Leigh artist Sheila, who takes lessons in the art of LA dancing, is a dab hand at giving the town a splash of colour.
Over the years she has frequently been commissioned by Southend Council chiefs to paint a scene of the borough, particularly when nostalgic old buildings are about to be bulldozed away.
Sheila's studio is in the heart of Old Leigh, one of the most picturesque spots in the area.
