Brian Copsey, of Maldon Little Ship Club, won the second of the BJRC (Blackwater Joint Sailing Committee) events of the summer, the Stone Cruiser Cup, on Sunday.
Carolanti (Rolland & Co) finished runner-up for the second successive race and Derek Gardner's Killara II (Marconi SC), winner of the first event, the Woods, Cup, was third.
The next BJRC event is the Krohn Cup on June 6 from Osea Island (9am start).
David Geaves Fiona VIII, of the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, won the third EAORA (East Anglian Offshore Racing Association) event of the year, from Ramsgate to Ostend.
Yachts from Belgium and France filled the next three places overall. There were also creditable performances from Ian Hart and Ace of Hearts (Crouch YC), who won Class 3, and Scarlet Jester (S Gosling, RBYC) and Shoot the Bar (Charlie Mills, Crouch YC), who were third and fourth respectively in Class 2. A fleet of around 35 yachts took part.
The first of five Sail East regattas will be staged over the bank holiday at Felixstowe.
The other four regattas will be at West Mersea, Medway, Ramsgate and Burnham throughout the summer.
The Royal Burnham Yacht Club hold their annual Whitsun Regatta over the three days of the bank holiday, and the Burnham Sailing Club and the Crouch Yacht Club compete in the Shipwash Trophy on Monday.
On the River Blackwater, Maldon Little Ship Club have a cruise to Shotley Marina, with the Ostend Trophy and East Coast cruise on Sunday and Monday.
Maldon Yacht Club stage normal points racing and have their Whitsun Tankard on Monday.
Stone Sailing Club hold a variety of events, including their Thirslet series, the Hornet Homer Trophy and a RS Open meeting.
Blackwater Sailing Club have their Centenary Regatta; and at Maylandsea Bay Yacht Club and Harlow Blackwater Sailing Club there will be the third race in the Gallard Shield series, the RNLI 175th Anniversary race and keelboat racing.
