Graham Beale stamped his authority on the Evening 10 mile series being run by the Essex Roads Cycling Club by winning the latest event and also recording a personal time of 23 minutes, 38 seconds.

Gary Glenister was second with 25m 3s with Brian Atkinson third in 25m 15s.

Mark Stanbury, Dave Lobley and Dave Griffiths also recorded personal best times of 25m 38s, 25m 45s and 25m 58s respectively.

Other times were: Tim Turner 28m 32s, Mick Scott 28m 55s, David Spraggins 29m 34s, Lucy Thompson 29m 36s and Colin Allabush 29m 46s.

On Saturday May 29, the Essex Roads Cycling Club are holding an exhibition at the Reading Rooms in Billericay High Street.

The aim of the exhibition, to which entry is free, is to promote cycling in general and the club welcomes people of all ages and abilities to drop in to meet members of the club who will be on hand to give advice.

Anybody who may be unable to make the exhibition but may be interested in joining a cycling club, the club meets on a Tuesday at the Scout Hall, Greens Farm Lane, Billericay between 8.30 pm and 10 pm.
