Don't be a droop - use a scoop! That was the message from environment-friendly children who are fed up with dog mess on Canvey seafront.
The youngsters from Canvey County Junior School joined councillor Dennis Williams and parks warden Tony Doveaston to push home the message to pet owners on the island.
Paul Haifman-Baker, the school's headteacher, said: "Our school is very environment-conscious and we were only too happy to help raise the profile of this campaign.
"We hope we have made the public more aware of the dangers of dogs mess in play areas and on the beach. It is very unpleasant for both children and parents to have to deal with it."
