Kieron Dyer and Richard Wright are set to put their promotion disappointment behind them with an England call-up.
The Ipswich duo could be included in Kevin Keegan's squad for the two Euro 2000 qualifying matches against Sweden and Bulgaria, which is due to be named on Friday.
With Nigel Martyn struggling with injury, Wright may be called upon to deputise for David Seaman while Dyer is hoping for his second call-up to the senior squad.
If not, both will be needed for the under-21 qualifiers.
Dyer and Wright were named the best two players in the Nationwide League Division One by football magazine FourFourTwo, voted for by players, managers and fans.
Matt Holland made the top 20 while Mark Venus, Tony Mowbray and David Johnson, were in the 50.
