Four intrepid Wickford rotarians yesterday embarked on a voyage from Lands End to John O'Groats - in a bid to raise £20,000 for charity.
The quartet are spending 10 days travelling the length of Great Britain in a 1915 model T Ford.
Wickford Rotary Club president Peter Yeo is being joined by Ford owner Mick Kemp and club members Ken Howes and John Kirk on the marathon trip.
They are hoping to raise the money to buy a new heart monitor for the London Chest Hospital, which has been Mr Yeo's chosen charity for his year as president.
Several rotary clubs along the way will be entertaining the team.
