Rayne continued their fine start to the season with a convincing victory over Hockley on Saturday.
Batting first, Hockley were starved of runs thanks to a tight spell of bowling from Jim Dodge (12-7-16-2).
Moving the ball both ways he caused the batsman to play and miss regularly. He was well supported by Mark Bicknell who recorded 12-2-27-2.
Rayne missed two opportunities to have Thompson dismissed as he went on to top score with 41, and with the support of Hailes (18) and Broad (37), Hockley began to build a decent score.
Chris Smith was brought into the attack, and after a nervous start he bowled at a lively pace, claiming three wickets for 62.
Mark Bicknell capped a good performance in the field with two superb diving catches to peg Hockley back.
The visitors reached 166 for eight at the end of their allotted overs.
Rayne lost Mouser (4) and Hasler (19) early on as Rayne set about their task.
Lee Butler then took control as he and Richard Whiteside shared a third wicket stand of 60, before Butler played a rash shot as he was dismissed for 37, while Whiteside went on to to record a fine 50.
He and Colin Richardson (12no) added 48 for the fourth wicket before Whiteside (62) was undone by Bridge who bowled him with six runs required for victory.
Richardson and Bicknell then completed the job with seven overs to spare.
Hockley's bowlers shared the wickets with Broad, Jones, Stock and Bridge taking one apiece.
